(contact QldPics about this picture)

'The Cafe by the Pool' and the 'Music Pavilion', in the grounds of Innisfail residence, 'Paronella Park', near Mena Creek, Queensland, in 1937. The buildings were designed and built by Spanish immigrant Jose Paronella in the 1920s and '30s. The buildings were influenced by Spanish architectural design, made of concrete and stuccoed with mortar and clay. The Cafe has two staircases, a terrace, and turret-like features, and sits in front of a backdrop of overgrown trees. The main house at Paronella Park was in the style of a Spanish castle. (Information taken from: D. Leighton, The Spanish dreamer, 1997).
