(contact barrygwren about this story)

MY GREAT GRANDFATHER (ISAAC WREN) BOUGHT CRANBURY IN 1865 AND BUILT A WATTLE AND MUD HOUSE FOR HIS FAMILY. HIS WIFE HAD TEN CHILDREN WHILE LIVING IN THAT HOUSE, AND SHE DIED AT CRANBURY IN 1931.

MY GRANDFATHER (GEORGE WREN) INHERITED A PORTION OF CRANBURY AND CALLED HIS SECTION 'MELVALE'. HE AND HIS WIFE, MARY WREN, IN TURN HAD EIGHT CHILDREN, ONE OF WHOM WAS MY FATHER (ALSO CALLED GEORGE WREN).

MY FATHER MOVED WEST TO FARM AT NYNGAN BUT WHEN MY MOTHER HAD CHILDREN SHE RETURNED TO 'MELVALE' TO BE CLOSE TO CANOWINDRA FOR EACH DELIVERY. AS A CONSEQUENCE I WAS BORN IN CANOWINDRA AND LIVED MY EARLY LIFE ON MELVALE BEFORE RETURNING TO NYNGAN.

I AM NOW RESEARCHING THE HISTORY OF THE GEORGE WREN FAMILY, PARTICULARLY THEIR LIFE IN THE CRANBURY AREA
