In 1989 Jundah Joe (Josip Grguranec in shirt and a cap on the photo) has unearthed a black gem boulder opal,11 x 9 cm. in size.This astonishing find was named "Galaxy". The size and a colors of the boulder opal was unique and never seen before,even this Opalville mining area was mined since 1888.Joe sold this brilliant gemstone in Switzerland for $75,000.Some time later a Melbourne gem dealer bought the stone for an undisclosed sum of money and "The Galaxy"was returned to Australia,to be immediately valued at $ 1.2 million.On this photo with Jundah Joe at Opalville mine, is another prominent and very well known opal miner Jerry Jaroslav Doctor.Jerry has a legendary status among opal miners,as a best opal prospector in Australia.
