Archer Point 1975

contributed by Booshman, taken in July 1975
(contact Booshman about this picture)

Pictured is the abandoned sorghum storage facility at Archer Point. The nearest shed has had the front portion of its roof peeled back by cyclonic weather. In 1975 the road to Archer Point was exceedingly rough. The road built to the "port" from Lakeland Downs had washed out in several places with numerous detours that involved fording creeks. It could be seen that the drainage pipes under the road at the various creek crossings had been hopelessly inadequate and unable to deal with the flows generated in the wet season.
