A line of boys being being baptised in the Johnstone River, near Innisfail around 1906. Onlookers have gathered to watch the ceremony. South Sea Islanders were brought to Queensland in the 1860s to work as farm labourers. Caption: A baptismal service in the Johnstone River. Kanaka boys being baptised.
