Moree is located on the Gwydir Highway in northeast New South Wales a distance of about 500km north-northwest from Sydney (show me). Moree has a population of around 9,300 and is a medium sized town for Australia. Moree is at an altitude of about 212m above sea level. The nearest sea is the Tasman Sea which is part of the South Pacific Ocean about 330km east-southeast of Moree.

Moree is on the Mehi River.
