Dairy featured in this country postcard of the farming area of Gracemere. Notes on the back of the postcard read:'The butter produced in Queensland during 1906 weighed 22,746, 593 lbs.The postcoard was part of the Franco-British Exhibition in 1908.'

The area west of Rockhampton first explored by Europeans in 1853, when the Archer Brothers arrived looking for pastures for their sheep. They settled by a small lake, which was named Gracemere in 1855.
