A horsedrawn ambulance wagon was bought in 1915 and Matt Braiden became Q.A.T.B ambulance man. Two-storey building was erected in Appel Street in 1916. (Description supplied with photograph.)
'63Frogslegs' adds: "My grandfather Dr Robert Swinburn and my grandmother Edeline lived in this house in 1936 as my grandfather was the ambulance officer. My uncle Mick (Malcolm John) was born at the Canungra Hospital on 16th November 1937."
