You'll find the village of Wallangarra on the New England Highway nestled amongst mountains such as Castle Rock (1226m) and Mount Norman (1239m) in southeast Queensland. Wallangarra is about 190km south-southwest of Brisbane (show me). Wallangarra has a population of around 400 and is one of the smaller towns in Australia. At about 880m above sea level, Wallangarra is one of the higher villages in Queensland. It is also one of the southernmost villages in Queensland. The nearest sea is the Coral Sea which is part of the South Pacific Ocean about 140km east-southeast of Wallangarra.
Wallangarra is just off the Glen Lyon Creek.
The nearest more populous place is the town of Tenterfield which is 17km away with a population of around 3,200 (show me a map with Wallangarra and Tenterfield).
