The Rock is located in south New South Wales and has a population of around 1,100 (50.6% male, 49.4% female). Around 287 families live in the area and of those 42.9% have one or more children under the age of 15. 14.6% of families have only a single parent while 38.3% of couples have no children. The Rock covers an area of approximately 23929 hectares or around 239 square kilometres (km2) (59129 acres).
