Old Beach is located in southeast Tasmania and has a population of around 2,400 (48.1% male, 51.9% female). Around 704 families live in the area and of those 42.6% have one or more children under the age of 15. 9.7% of families have only a single parent while 42.0% of couples have no children. Old Beach covers an area of approximately 1098 hectares or around 11 square kilometres (km2) (2713 acres).
