Was destroyed by fire at 6am this morning. You can still see the smoke coming from part of the building on the left. The Observatory has been closed for about 2 years. Before that it was operated for 20 years as the Canberra Spacedome and Planetarium by the Tradesmens Union Club.
The ABC reports that "Police are treating the fire as suspicious."
