Adelaide is a suburb of north-northeast Adelaide in southeast South Australia and has a population of around 10,000 (54.6% male, 45.4% female). Around 1590 families live in the area and of those 16.2% have one or more children under the age of 15. 13.1% of families have only a single parent while 63.5% of couples have no children. Adelaide covers an area of approximately 1191 hectares or around 12 square kilometres (km2) (2942 acres).

The most common income bracket for people living in Adelaide is between $150-$249 per week (10.5% of people). 14.0% have no income and high income earners ($2000 or more per week) account for 4.7% of the population.

Of the 4184 private dwellings in Adelaide 15% are owned outright by their occupiers, 20% are being purchased (eg. by mortgage) and 57% are being rented. On average there are around 2.4 people per private dwelling in the area.
