The Finniss River in the northwest of the Northern Territory starts below Mount Minza at an elevation of 104m and flows into the Timor Sea of the Indian Ocean.

The Finniss River drops around 104m over its 159km length.

The Finniss River flows through Mowzie Billabong (8m).

The following creeks and rivers flow into the Finniss River: Finniss River South Branch, Burton Creek, Little Finniss River and Gorge Creek.
