Photograph taken in the vicinity of Caxton Street, Petrie Terrace, looking due west across the intersection of Judge and Hale Streets and across the Milton Cemetery. The Mortuary Chapel is the brick building in Hale Street, which was converted to a church in 1873 and demolished to make way for the first Christ Church, Milton (1876-1891]. Forsyth's Milton Distillery can be seen on the crest of Milton Road, whilst Bishopbourne, the residence of Bishop Tufnell, may be seen to the right [erected in 1868].
