The Douglas River in the northwest of the Northern Territory starts below Mount McLachlan at an elevation of 206m and ends at an elevation of 30.8m merging with the Daly River.

The Douglas River drops around 175m over its 83.4km length.

The following creeks and rivers flow into the Douglas River: Hayes Creek, Gypsy Creek and Depot Creek.
