This picture shows an old disused cutting on the Stuart Highway near Pine Creek. About 4okm north of Katherine (near the turn off to Edith Falls) there is a short stretch of dual lane which provides a good safe overtaking opportunity. Don't be fooled into thinking its then dual lane all the way to Katherine. Its probably only about 3km long.
