Picture of / about 'Maleny' Queensland - John and Jane Cokley of North Maleny3 - John and Jane Cokley of North Maleny (Contributed by: QldPics)
John Cokley was born in Dublin, Ireland, in May 1855 and came to Australia in 1886 on the ship 'Cloncurry'. The Cokley family settled on a property of aproximately 150 acres on Burgums Road, North Maleny. They were dairy farmers and breeders of pure-bred Jersey cattle. John and Jane Cokley had eleven children. John died on 4 January 1934, leaving his wife and nine children. Two sons predeceased him. (Description supplied with photograph.)

John Grigor and his wife Elizabeth Grigor of Maleny. John was a son of William and Mary Grigor of 'Bankfoot House', Glasshouse Mountains, the first settlers in the area. Mrs Elizabeth Grigor was the daughter of Joseph and Maria McCarthy of Mountain View Road, Maleny. They were also very early selectors in the Maleny district. (Description supplied with photograph)
