He and Mary Emmaline (Polly) Alder were married in Sydney on 20 March 1901. This photograph was taken on their wedding day. William L' Estrange was an electrical engineer and held positions with the Brisbane Electric Supply Company and later was the director of the Ipswich Electric Supply Company and the chairman of the Institute of Engineers Australia (Qld).
