Booroomba Rocks is located on the Booroomba Creek in the centre of the Australian Capital Territory a distance of 34km south-southwest from Canberra (show me). At about 1363m above sea level, Booroomba Rocks is the fifth highest locality in the Australian Capital Territory. The nearest sea is the Tasman Sea which is part of the South Pacific Ocean about 110km east of Booroomba Rocks.

Booroomba Rocks is located within the Namadgi National Park. There are 18 other localities within the Namadgi National Park: Bendora Arboretum, Big Creamy Flats, Bimberi Range, Boboyan Divide, Booth Range, Clear Range, Glendale Crossing, Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station, Lunar Laser Ranger, Nursery Swamp, Orroral Tracking Station, Picadilly Circus, Rotten Swamp, Scabby Range, Sentry Box Rock, Stockyard Spur, Tidbinbilla Range and Wark's Camp.
