This shot was taken in November, 1911, during the Commissioner's inspection of country from Cloncurry to King's Hole in connection with a proposed rail line from Cloncurry to Mt. Cuthbert. The Commissioner was also inspecting the route of the Great Western Railway from Winton to the Diamantina River. The Commissioner and another man, possibly the Chief Engineer, are both wearing white pith helmets.
