The Barrys Reef School is in the centre of the square area of pine trees in middle of photo. The building in the centre front was the Barrys Reef Mechanics Institute. The present Blackwood to Trentham road now cuts through the middle of the photo in front of the Sultan mine mullock heap. None of these houses appear to be standing today.
