St. Stephens Church middle far left and poplar trees with Monkey Puzzle tree near end of the road. The Barrys Reef School is in the centre of the square area of pine trees in middle of photo. The building in the centre front was the Barrys Reef Mechanics Institute. All that can be seen today is the Monkey Puzzle tree that is still standing over 100 years old. C.1909.

Barrys Reef shows St. Stephens church middle far right, and the mullock heap from the Sultan Mine far left. The present Blackwood to Trentham road now cuts through the middle of the photo in front of the Sultan mine mullock heap. None of these houses appear to be standing today.
