Moruya is a coastal town on the Princes Highway in southeast New South Wales. Its closest capital city is actually Canberra (show me) in the Australian Capital Territory about 110km to the northwest (the capital of New South Wales is Sydney (show me), about 250km away to the north-northeast of Moruya). Moruya has a population of around 2,500 and is a medium sized town for Australia. Moruya is at an altitude of about 4m above sea level.

Moruya is on the Moruya River.

The nearest more populous place is the city of Batemans Bay which is 24km away with a population of around 10,000 (show me a map with Moruya and Batemans Bay).
