Crushed fluorite. Pine Mountain Fluorite Mine, Tintaldra, Vic. Apparently used by BHP as a flux in smelting iron ore. The mine produced 5,240 tonnes of fluorite between 1918 and 1974. It is a sub-vertical hydrothermal quartz vein with minor lead and zinc mineralisation derived from the nearby Pine Mountain Granite.
