Rose Cottage (also known as Flag Hotel) has a notorious history when in 1864 bushrangers Ben Hall, John Dunn and John Gilbert held up the town store owned by Edward Morris - a former police Sergeant. The bushrangers then bailed up the entire town in the Flag Hotel (Rose Cottage above). This event was known as the Binda Ball of which a song has been written.
This picture is also part of the Bonzle Hotels (open in new window) photo collection.
This picture was uploaded into the Bonzle Digital Atlas of Australia entry for the Locality 'Binda'.
