View of Warwick Post Office, with the rear of the T. J. Byrnes Monument in the foreground. This monument was erected in 1902 by the citizens of Warwick and district to honour the former Premier of Queensland and MLA for Warwick, Thomas Joseph Byrnes, who died on 27 September 1898 at the age of 37. He was the first Queensland-born premier of the state, and had held office for only five months prior to his death.
