    The Marandoo project has 18 centre pivot systems covering 40 hectares each and at a total of 840 hectares and uses around 20 gigalitres of water a year.

    The HAP (Hamersley Agricultural Project) is run on a 'Fly - in Fly - out' basis, with Rio Tinto owning the worlds biggest private rail network ease of access led the miner into the pastoral industry as it now runs six cattle stations covering some 1.5 million hectares across the Pilbara.
