    Henry Howey Memorial. Howey established a sheep and cattle stations, purchased land in Gisborne in the land sales of 1837. He returned to Sydney in the same year to arrange transfer of his household but his vessel was lost at sea on the return voyage to Victoria. The memorial marks the spot of his hut.
